Kinja'd!!!

Korres Project 4 (or simply P4) is a Greek All-Terrain supercar. A consistent team lead by Architect Engineer Dimitris Korres has been going strong since 2009 working out how to build a supercar that is as capable off-road as on-road. This current prototype is the fourth in a line that went from being a buggy to Mad Max rig, and finally is landing on something that looks like a production vehicle from the exterior (though extremely dated for 2009, let alone 2014, not to mention today).

Powered by an LS7 V8 engine, the Korres P4 is estimated to do 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds and have a top speed of about 186 mph. Of course these estimates are for on-road, though I can’t tell you if that’s in RWD-only mode, AWD mode, or locked 4WD mode since all three just so happen to be optional.

But obviously it isn’t about the powertrain, even with the in-house designed 6-speed manual gearbox, drivelines, halfshafts or all the mechanical connections in favor of electronics for added durability and reliability. No, this entire project has and will remain all about building a vehicle around its suspension system.

Basically the goal is full flexibility of intent. The suspension can be raised and lowered mechanically (while moving) and the stiffness increases as the ride height decreases and vice versa. But I’m going to go ahead and just take the detailed specs !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and post them below as well as a video of the P4 on the move.

And yes, the project is still moving forward. Korres has done at least one TEDx presentation as well as showing his projects to mechanical engineering students just last month.

Because I love seeing progress, I’m going to post a 2014 video of the Project 3 as well as the Project 2 video from 2009. Note that the Project 2 was very successful in reception and it made all the future projects possible by getting a full team committed to making this car happen.

Maybe some big company will start funding this car and a future unveiling of a Korres P5 meant for production can happen in Geneva some time soon. Though, I hate to say it, I’m not sure a 500 hp LS7 is enough to qualify as a supercar anymore at 3,500 lbs. That means pricing would need to fall below $200,000 in order to attract buyers. Never know what the future will bring, but Korres and team are 100% certified in all-terrain badassery regardless.

Architect engineer?

....

Does he fight with himself over the length of cantilevers?

what a troubled existence

This is everything I need. Sports car for daily use, off roadie for the weekend.

Hot take: this is dumb and will only result in a vehicle which is highly compromised in one area or another or both.
